new years? overrated? balderdash.

it hardly seems like it's been six days since 2007 reared it's ugly head from the birthcanal of 2006. methinks it's probably because it feels like mid- to late-spring in the New York metro area today.

and there is your current temperature. i believe the record high (63 degs in the 50s) was shattered by a balmy 70. global warming? i think not. this is a merely a sign than little El Niño is back, and with a vengance.

and on a day like this, how can you not resolve to better yourself for the New Year? Chach finally managed to push me out the door and into the gym to "Resolve Better." so, today i signed up for a membership at Astoria's branch of New York Sport Clubs.

in less than one week, our 3-day Icelandic journey will commence. to celebrate, we watched 101 Reykjavik last night and ate Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi food from a charming little place called Roti Boti. only afterward did we realize that 101 Reykjavik was classified on Netflix and Wikipedia as a "gay romantic comedy." now, before all of you rush to your nearest LGBT video store to pick it up, be warned that there is really only one couple in the movie that fit the specific homosexual description (a lesbian couple,) and there seems to be a trememdous amount of heterosexual-fucking going on - for what is supposed to be an LGBT film. there is also a ton of full frontal nudity on the part of both sexes. who knew that the Icelanders were so...liberated? in America, this movie would only get play on Skinimax. sad, considering it is quite a thoughtful film.

the film also portrayed young Icelanders as hard-partying drunkards. i hope that we can keep up with all of them on the runtur, or a similar pub crawl. on that note, enjoy some pictures of us boozing it up over New Years at Arik and Melissa's lovely Brooklyn garden apartment.
